What are the benefits of
bottled drinking water?
It's with you wherever you go
Water - it will determine your state of health or disease.
Walk into any store today and you will see shelves lined with
bottled drinking water. Should you buy them? Which ones? Or
should you drink tap water? Or what about buying and installing
your own water filter? Decisions, decisions, decisions...
Generally, what is the biggest benefit of bottled water?
CONVENIENCE - no doubt about it. It is a lot easier to grab a
bottle of water than to access water through other sources. Tap
water - would you risk drinking it? Depending on where you
live, it's either free or very cheap but, in most cases, it
tastes terrible. In addition, there's the unknown risk of the
quality as you move from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Tap
water quality varies widely from one geographical region to the
next.
What about installing your own water filter or filtration
system? You will need to research the various methods of
filtration and decide for yourself which one is most desirable
for you. Then, there is the cost of the filters and its
installation and maintenance (if filters need replacing on a
regular basis). But even if you filter your own water, what
happens when you leave your home - like when you travel, for
example? What do you drink then? Usually, bottled water is the
answer.

Another inexpensive alternative is to install a water cooler in
your home and/or office and having water either delivered to
you or refill the bottles yourself at your local store. There
is the cost of the cooler to consider, but once you've paid for
it, the water tends to be relatively inexpensive. Again, what
happens if you travel? You certainly can't take your water
cooler with you. That's when bottled water becomes a viable
option.
What about carrying your own bottle and refilling if
from your favorite source? This is a very popular
option, especially for active people who use their own bottles
before, during or after exercise. You control the water you put
into your "traveler" and you can add whatever you want to it.
Yet again, if you travel, it's impractical. Another
consideration lately is the type of plastic used in your
personal bottle. Some bottlers today are very aware of this and
use safer resins (non-BPA) when bottling water.
The last consideration is the technologies available to
bottlers today versus what you can do on your own. There is no
way you can have access to the multitude of technologies that
bottlers have today when bottling water.
Which brings us back to the choices available in bottled water.
It's both a blessing and a curse that you have so many choices.
Take a look at the source of the bottled drinking water, the
technologies used (if any) to purify the water and what they've
added to the water.
Knowing you are faced with the challenges discussed above and
assuming you are concerned about you and your family's health
and safety, we have done the research for you to narrow down
your choices to the best bottled drinking water we could
find.
